RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES
This is not a resident of a retirement community. This is Bob Heinonen portraying 90 year old Charles Goodnight. Charlie is a crusty codger that gives his audiences "what for." This is just one of many Texas Heroes historic figures that can entertain, delight and enlighten residents of retirement communities.
Seniors see an absorbing one person 25-45 minute "stage" performance with time at the end for them to ask questions and to tell their stories. Then the performer mingles with the audience to answer questions one-on-one and to listen to their stories. Many seniors like to have their pictures taken with the historical figure.
- Residents learn about the mystique of a state they moved to when they were already out of school
- They hear true stories that emphasize basic values
- It is a new, very personal experience
- As we get older we have a greater interest in and appreciation of history
- Good, old fashioned Texas pride!
Your ability to tailor the timeframe means you can match this entertaining, yet educational experience with your scheduling needs.
The length of the portrayal is adjustable and the Q&A session is optional; since no stage or props are required, performances can be anywhere an audience can be comfortably seated. Audiences from 5 to 100 people are appropriate.
Several fee arrangements are available to help you with your monthly budget. This is also something to feature for a marketing event like a Family Night or Community Outreach....our performances appeal to audiences from 4th graders on up through senior citizens.
