GREAT
IDEAS TO MAXIMIZE
A TEXAS HEROES
PERFORMANCE
You can turn a Texas Heroes performance into
a much bigger event with a little imagination. The following are some ideas that we have come up with and some
that we have seen several Activities Directors use. What are your ideas?
·
Tell your residents to invite their grandchildren (8
years on up) to our Texas Heroes performance – 4th graders on
up love this type of performance.
- If your senior’s
community supports a local elementary school, have the Texas Heroes
performance at the elementary school for the children and bus your
residents over to the school as an outing. One of our focuses is schools.
- If any of your
residents know of a home schooling group or family, or a Scout Troop,
invite them to attend the Texas Heroes performance as a community
service.
- Ask your residents to
“dress Texas” for the Texas Heroes performance…red, white and blue
for the Texas flag or western style dress.
- Work with your dietary
people to do a Texas meal on Texas Heroes performance day.
- Put up some Texas or
western decorations.
- Play a Texas trivia
game with prizes – the June, 2001, issue of Texas Monthly magazine
published Texas trivia questions in an article called “Testing Testing”.
- Offer to have
resident’s pictures taken with the Texas Hero for their memorabilia
and/or to share with their families.
Your Texas Hero will work with you.
- Use the Texas Heroes
performance as a marketing event.
- Send out press releases
to local news media announcing the Texas Heroes performance and/or
send a report afterward on the performance to your local paper with candid
pictures.
Share your Texas Heroes
ideas with us and we will pass them on to others!
Life is too short not to
live it as a Texan!
